138 - Mahomet and the Mountain

The proverb goes: “If the mountain will not come to Mahomet, Mahomet must go to the mountain”.

After so many years of Mahomet going to the mountain...
of meetings (at the United Nations University in Tokyo, the International Institute of software Technology in Macau and others), an instance of which is documented by the photo below, recently received:
Here with Prof. Heitor Gurgulino de Souza, Rector of the UNU, Dr. Dines Bjørner, Director of UNU-IIST, Prof. Gilles Kahn, Chief Scientist, INRIA, Sophia-Antipolis, France, Prof. Kesav V. Nori, Vice-President, TRDDC, Pune, India, Prof. Ivan M. Havel, Director, Centre for Theoretical Study, Prague, CR, Prof. Maurice Tchuente, Vice-Rector, University of Yaoundé, Cameroon, Prof. Zhou LiGao, Vice-Rector, University of Macau, Prof. Ji FuSheng, Deputy Director General, SSTCC, Beijing, China.

...yesterday the mountain came to Mahomet:
Dr. Tomasz Janowski, Dra. Elsa Estevez, Dra. Sara Fernandes and Arq. Nuno Silva Leal kindly drove down from Braga in awful weather (after flying over half the world the day before) to join me for lunch and a meeting at Hotel Albatroz in Cascais. This is to register my appreciation for the efforts, the company and the interesting conversation. Hoping the projects discussed will succeed.
